POLITICAL ISSUES

Havoc at Malaysian Parliment

Tonight on 26 February 2009, I watched the TV3 news at 9 p.m. regarding the confusion and havoc in and outside the Parliment. I feel like clinching my fists and bite my teeth watching many childish actions; far more pack than the action of Mr Jetli in his 'Romeo Must Die' movie last week. Yes, the scene were full of actions. If they were to be let loose on the floor without any obstacles, I think there would be some fist-throwing at each other. I really love to watch the expression in their faces trying to scare one another as if they dare to eat their foes. Luckily they forgot that they wore shoes huh!

Mr Karpal may have the bullets or threat but he may not know specifically who had sent them but simply accused the Pemuda UMNO. Unless he caught the culprit redhanded, he cannot simply accused. The Pemuda UMNO of several states who had felt the insult and got very mad were probably not the culprits and probably blurred about what had happened to Mr Karpal. Out of the blue, many possibility could happen. I won't discard the idea of the thugs who had done it but we don't know who was behind it. It was probably the thugs were high on drugs that made them the dare devil stuntmen who tried to create history and make the headline in the national news.

DUN seating under a tree: Perak

It's sad that the Perak PR have to seat under a tree. Is this the first seating done under a tree in the world? Are they being displaced or unable to afford another Hall for the seating or a tale of the two cities? It's quite bad when it is 50-50; nothing is secure and no guarantee. It's so lucky that someone had conserved the trees in the Ipoh City. It's so fortunate that Ipoh has many big/huge trees around. At least they are saved from the blazing sunshine but not the rain of course.

Politik pamaq empasan

Pamaq nyau bakajengkak meh sida engkechit agai pegong ke manah. Well, I think that is the process of Democracy on the making. Yeah, that’s a good sign of how democracy is practised without prejudice. Leboh maya aku nyuluh agai ulu Sungai Sejambu dulu dia, dinga aku nyau bakatepak sida pamaq engkechit terejun ke ai. Ah deh indai, bangat tak linsau amat meh mata aku tu enda tepedaka sida pamaq nya. Angka aku tu menya kelalu balat main ba baruh rumah nilik utai urang indu ke benong ngeredai kain kini? Pama agi ga enti sungai udah ditanka aku pukat pisit awakka sida pamaq nya kena balut iya. Bisi ga empa pansuh.Senang aja kitai deka nemu sapa sida ke kala nyadi pamaq nya. Ari pegong ni, tebing ni iya kala engkechit pen enda ulih disalamka iya neh. Enda nyenyalah baka unggal Evelis ApaiSali ba menua Engkeratong Ayam Raja di Batang Mandai din.

Hah! I am sitting by the river bank making lot of crazy noises…Nya iya kok kok kik….Tu iya kok kok lir….! Ngik kok kok kitu…..Nyam kok kok put….have been witnessing all the crazy deeds of humans in the Batang Mandai ba entigis Pulau BuahNyiur. We, the loyal toads, have never been taken care of properly and being left sitting hopelessly by the banks of the 'lubok/lepong' while all the frogs are simply jumping here and there catching insects that fly in front of our mouths. Are these frogs the superior ones. It looks the Apai Sabit Bekait are the super humans. It has always been the Apai Jangkam Bulan who leads the village or Apai Sabit Bekait who leads the country. These particular race seem super today who never give other races the chance to lead the State and country. It looks like they are the super human on earth like the jews claimed themselves which they too accused as well. We will never escape from certain being who are always superman. They are there forever at all cost. To be a Super human.

Believe it or not, dominant frogs are a sign of good practice of DEMOCRACY in any country. If we want to rule, we must divide and assign the ponds for the frogs so that the owner of the ponds is easier in managing them. Too much frogs in a single pond is not good as they can spoil the pond when insects are getting scarce.

Akai dai deh indai, enti sida pamaq nya nyau bakajengkak engkechit leluga ba sebelah tebing sungai; sida reringkak, reriga nyau bakasindau kekejuk ba tebing pegong, nya meh ke tanda good democracy practice. Aku sigi engai amat meda tak NYAU IYA AJA AJA ke ka leligai nyanggai daun puda ba tampuk kantok kayu lengkan nya. Bah! Kati ku enggau iya deh. Kati tau kitai tu minta sah minta saup sida pamaq, sida engkatak reringkak, reriga deh unggal kena ngeruroh sida nyumboh ke bamaq nya, ke bam nya buai ari puchuk lengkan nya? Kasih meh menua mayas nyau enda digalau lalu kedil agi sida nya diau ba Zoo tauka Taman Jelu.

Karpal considering getting a bodyguard

The Star reported on Sunday, February 28. 2009 that he considered hiring a bodyguard following the confrontation that took place in the Parliment last Thursday. It's such a hard way of surviving to meet one's daily need where it involves a matter life and death. Any provocation or wrong use of words will make one ends up in the hot soup and freedom is getting less. One will be scare of the surrounding people who are his opponents and the situation can be unpredictable. Judging from the last incident, I could see the faces who were really angry and could be out of control. I hope that was just a move of scaring, just like a parent trying to scare a kid with a rotan. We cannot simply let human emotion on the loose as thing could become beyond control as their hearts are burning.

Dewan Rakyat suspends Gobind for one year

The Borneo Post, Tuesday, March 17, 2009, reported that Mr Gobind S. Deo is suspended for one year for bringing the issue of Altantuya murdering in the Dewan.

Ohhhh....no, he will lose all the privilege he is given while being a Member of the Parliment. Life in the Dewan is quite hectic. At least now he will have peace of mind and can enjoy a good one-year rest outside the 'Dewan Rakyat'. It is tough to face the bombs of YB Bung Moktar and his DR cronies. So, to those MP who are tired of the bomb may act aggressively so that you will be fired from the 'Dewan Rakyat'. You must be aware that your Master Speaker has been very tactful and damned strict with you all down there unless you want to have a good rest. The DR environment is very hectic as we watch them barking at each other without any respect for their opponents. Any bad words simply spill out from the mouths of those who are really weak in spirit or easily emotional and go out of control. We can see their fierce faces like dare to or willing to eat their opponents raw!!! Well, that's how they want to threaten their opponents. But once outside the Dewan Rakyat, some of them couldn't hide their face after so much humiliation. If possible, in order to look for a peace of mind, one better creates havoc and be fired!

Never any 'instant noodles' project in Sarawak: Johari

Datuk Amar Abang Johari strongly denied in the Borneo Post Tuesday, March 17, 2009, that there is such thing as 'instant noodles' projects in Sarawak. I think, if all parties are sincere, this is not the right time to announce any past-planned project for the area facing by-election. Doing so would spark suspicions of the motives of the ones who say/announce so. This maybe seen as the reinforcement of the plan in the past but it is not the right time when by-election is around the corner. It's better to keep quiet about the already planned projects, but just say the new projects, and they shall be implemented accordingly. It wouldn't be easy to promise the projects that are not even in the plan. In the end, the voters will accused the one who has promised a liar. This kind of promise, if not fulfill, would tarnish the good name or credibility of the promiser.

Development projects don't wait for election: Fadillah

Bravo Mr Fadillah Yusuf who stressed it in the Borbeo Post Tuesday, March 16, 2009. Another minister seemed to wait this by-election to announce the instant noodle project for Batang Ai. It's so easy to announce such project coincide with the election because the fulcrum is at someone disposal. I would rather prefer to let it be announced just after the election. There is no excuse to say it is by coincidence. It should not be repeated over again during this time around less we will be accused of cooking instant noodle. I think our DPM is right to say that there should be no instant noodle distributed around this time. It does not create good image for the implementor by doing so. It's more sincere and wise to hold back and announce the decision later, after the election. This kind of instant noodle announcement sometimes fail to accomplish after the election. It's just like 'angat-angat tahi ayam' and for you eyes and ears only.

Batang Ai Election

Those who wishes and has the intention to become the representative of the Batang Ai people must be the one who are from the area. I don't think it is a good or wise idea for the 'KAMPAR' to try to throw the 'Ibrahim Pendek's dice' to speak for the local people there. That looks like an opporunist is trying to deprive the chance of the local to rule the area.Another thing is that if one does not have any money to stand, it is better don't go ahead. That is just like throwing an empty hook at the mouth of 'ikan empelasi' or trying to impersonate Mr Elvis Presley. When, one has won, one would feel that one's hook has entangled with the mouth of an ikan semah/empurau and then one would start to impersonate Mr Evelis ApaiSali where his voice is out of pitching, and thereby one would need to attend a vocal training with Ajai and Hazami.NO MONEY NO TALK!

RM12 mln for roads in Batang Ai; project's State priotity: Masing

The Borneo Post Monday, March 16, 2009 exposed another project that was planned long time ago and now has become an overcooked instant noodle. The Land Development Minister Dato Sri James Jemot informed that the state has agreed to tar-seal road within the Batang Ai resettlement scheme whereby the cost is RM12 mln. Wah, this is really an instant noodle for the Batang Ai. This is the best time to distribute the overcooked instant noodle to appease the people there. Seeking support and publicity through instant noodle project is quite common during the time of by-election campaign. How I wish that there will be a by-election in my area so that the minister also announces as many popular people projects there. Giving instant noodle projects has been a very popular ingredient and so easy to make to pledge good support from the people. The project can be implemented immediately least the people expect the kind coming their way. Please don't wait for election to announce development project.

GEOENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

Rampant flood aren't nightmares today

Flood seems to be a common occurrence in Sarawak. It has seemed been a yearly event for the state whenever heavy rainfall strikes unexpectedly. In early 2009, the state was hit worst by the 'landas season',. Several river basins were badly flooded and many parts of the town and cities were submerged in water, for example, the town such as Sibu, Kanowit, Selangau, Marudi, and Bau. In many occassions in most cases, the flood levels rose rapidly without any due warning. In the past, say in the 50s or 60s, 70s, an extreme flood seldom occurred in certain areas that normally occurred once in every 10 or 25 years. Today, frequent flood is quite rampant and scary for the population who have never been affected for the last tens of years or more.

There are several factors that enhance the rapid rise in flood in the stream under a normal heavy rainfall. In the past, there was used to be the same amount and duration of rainfall, but floods were not as rampant as today. I think, such serious floods in todays are due to uncountable compound dams in the vast catchment areas have been destroyed unscrupulously. In several main river, serious siltation can also aggravate the flood to a dangerous level. In the past, there had been vast area with uncountable well-preserved natural dams that can help to cushion and impound runoff, thus the flood level rises slowly. The quick rise in flood is usually due to the rapid run-off from the hilly areas to the river. Perhaps more than 90 per cent of the rainfall flow as run-off and drain rapidly into the channels without any obstacles/dams delaying the flow. It may take ages for the natural dams to develop and may never developed to the fullest viewing the rapid development implemented in the State.

UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE BOTH, BUT WE WILL HAVE TO FACE AND LIVE WITH IT AT THE EXPENSE OF DEVELOPMENT.

DAYAK ISSUES

THE TERM 'DAYAK' MAINTAINED
To some people, the term Dayak may sound synonym to backwardness, and perhaps, Orang ulu also sounds like that too. The races under them are very proud to be grouped or united as such. The terms will not hinder some efforts to bring progresses and development to the people or putting them to the right development stream. Such terms are symbols of ethnicities that they should be proud of.

What should we call our communities then, if we discard the term Dayak, Iban, Orang Ulu, Chinese, Malays, Bumiputra etc etc? Calling them Malaysian is too general, and looks like wiping out their direct entities from the globe. It’s more interesting to have many entities/races/ethnic groups that are united in Malaysia.

By imposing one race is not an ultimate solution to unite its’ citizen. What we can do is, we must respect everyone, Malaysian citizen, support them in term of what they need. There should be no race made superior or special to the other. After all we must enjoy life together in unity of various groups under IMalaysia concept. We look back at the history, it is indeed timely appropriate to group all the native ethnics in Sarawak as Dayak. As well. There are many kind of people in the Chinese race or Indian, Arab, English, Kenyan, etc.

Can Dayaks of Sarawak united?

We have the Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) and yet the dominant ones that seem to outshine are the individual associations representing each of the communities. Today, it appears that it is quite difficult for the union to get financial support and yet so easy for certain association to get financial support from the government. Why? Only the donors know their objectives and motives! The most sad thing to see is that the members of the union are represented by a single race, i.e., Iban. As such, it seems that there is lack of support from other dayaks. I don't know the real reasons but I can guess based on my personal observations. Since all the members are iban, so, it would be like the union is of iban in nature and be for the iban. Yes, there has always been an iban who head and lead the union; therefore, it is not good and can make other dayaks feel envious and that make them simply keeping themselves inactive and away from it. I love to see that all dayak associations would be under one main body, the SDNU, whereby the President be rotated and committee members be reflected by at least different races. And perhaps these members shall be hand-picked from the associations. Whatever matter concerning any of the dayak communities, the Union shall be the one on the forefront who facilitates it for them. The association will only manage up to each community level and then the committee brings the issues to the union which must speak for what it has to speak for the interest of each community. I think, the union should not be a puppet for the political people. This will only destroy the objective and interest of the union in general when the politics is trying to be dominant in the decision-making. All members in the union must not be having any political interest.

NCL can be best protected by government, say Nyallau

In the Borneo Post on Wednesday, Mac 4, 2009, Mr Nyallau said that NCL should remain as they are so that they can be best protected by the government. If these lands are delineated, surveyed and issued titles, there would be high chances that their registered owners will sell them off to the non-bumiputra later on.Personally, I agree with this statement The titled lands are precious and are very tempting for the owners to sell them to the buyers who are willing to pay for the high price demanded. Many NCL near the town had been issued titles and perhaps the records at the Land and Survey has lots to reveal about their status as Mr Nyallau had said. If many NCL are issued with titles, those located near the town will soon be swallowed up by the non-bumiputra who are willing to pay for the good price offered. We have heard some bumiputra had become an instant millionaires after making the deal. The move to lift the status of the NCL is good where in such way if they happened to meet the potential buyers, there will be millionaire instantly; therefore, there will be many millionaire bumiputra as a result of selling their titled NCL in the future. The move to protect NCL in such manner is also much welcome. Many bumiputra people love the instant benefit from selling their land. We do not want bumiputra to lose lands through selling them unscrupulously and in the end the non-bumiputra will get the bigger share of the NCL. The development of the NCL by developer should be best made known to the landowners. There should be no fishy thing happening behind their land issues. There are several instants when the people living in certain river basin were seemed to be caught by surprise that their lands had been alienated to the foreign company for large-scale oil palm plantation. Worst still, those who had made such proposal are the people who do not own the land in that particular basin. They obtained signatures of their relaitives or other people, their friends who do not own the lands and claimed them as the signatures of the real landowner who had agreed for their land to be developed for the scheme. In this manner, they are performing a daylight robbery of the lands of rightful owners. We cannot simply allow the foreign company/body to develop the lands without the consent/agreement of the rightful owners. The NCL would be better developed by the landowner who may form a coperation that comprise members who are landowner in a particular river basin. The river basin shall be perimeter surveyed and assigned under the name of the local coperation in order to be used to apply for loan for developing certain scheme/industry. Or perhaps for other agricultural schemes, the ministry of Agricultural can initiate similar schemes like the rubber scheme in the 60s or 70s where the participation of the farmers/local people is more of direct benefit. I believe the oil palm scheme can be initiated in such manner under the IADP. Those people who want to take advantage of the raw materials can venture into setting up of the facilities that produce the downstream products. It would not be so sincere/genuine intention to allow the third party to develop any scheme and then simply give a return of less than hundred Ringgit per month per person.

SOCIAL ISSUES

DON'T SIMPLY PROMISE!!

In some function, we can hear many corrupted promises made publicly. Nyau baka ke ka pecah skrin TV alah kena letop jaku inggar ka nabor ke penemu ke nyelainya. Enti kaban ba alam TV nya ulih mukut ari dalam TV nya, bisi ari skrin nya bekecai berai. Baka kitai ke ka ngulihka utai ba sida ke bekuasa; beri duit dulu, baru ka bulih utai ba sida iya. Bakanya ga sida ke bejaku kerah kerah maya kimpin, maya express bejaku, maya sivik, etc amat meh sida ka bejaku bejanji ke macam macam utai nya nadai nyurong ke pala agong agai jari sida ke mending nya. Mulut sida semina kimut kimut deka ngumpan ngena leka jaku ke ulih narit ati. Nya pen baka ke nyua ke duit ba baruh mija ga. They talk and talk bluffing in the middle of everyone along their way, promising this and that, as if they have all the resources to fulfill their future planning. Maya bejaku, kimpin, anang deka bejanji, enggai ke enda ulih tunai alu kumbai urang bula. Bisi ari, kitai kena tugong ke urang batu pemula ba nanga sungai. Bejanji pen kumbai ka ngerasuah ga. Anang semina ka ngumbai sida ke ka meri duit aja ka rasuah. Sida ke janji pen merasuah ga. Jejimat meh ka bejaku. Anang ka nunda diri ke NYA IYA BULIH maya udah ngirup ai rachun, kemi rimau.

Humans dare to kill humans

Humans are highly complex and sophisticated lifeform ever appeared on earth and are supposed to be very civilized compared with the animals. Already during the creation of creatures, a human had been placed above all animals in terms of social status. Many evolutionists believe that humans had evolved from simple ugly looking humans to the most beautiful modern ones. In the animal kingdom, animals killing the same species are not rampant as in the human kingdom. Every now and then and everywhere we hear humans kill humans.

Many people kill because of god, of religion, of moral status, of economic status etc. A pickpocket dare to kill in order to have access to the pocket he wants to dig. A road bully dares to bash other road users to death in order to settle a minor accident. A servant girl dares to kill to settle disputes with her master. An employee dares to kill his employers to fight for the best he can get from his company. A religious fanatic dares to kill just to settle the issue of the true religion. A robber dares to kill in order to get something free from another human. A politician dares to kill in order to dominate the politics and so on and so forth. All these make the humans as very complex and sophisticated creatures on earth.

They by all means try or vie to created the most devastated weapons to be used to wipe out another human community. It looks like it is just because of economic, social, or religious issues that make human differs in ideology/thoughts/beliefs. This makes them so emotionally involved until they dare to quarrel and try to outclass another humans by all means, not excluding to the extent to terminate the life of those whom they call their enemies. I think, a human who kills is the worst creatures ever created by God, no matter he claims himself killing for god's sake. If one thinks that God allows the killing, this world will be having no ending of bloodshed. Only God can take back the human life. A human has never been given any authority to end a human life. Even the animals, we are not allow to end their life even in the name of self defense.

Manggah amat apai indu nya

Aku ka ngenang siti utai ke nyadi ke kala nyadi ba aku ke balat amat ngemalu, iya nya pasal 'uncontrolled emotion'. Bedau kala aku dimalu siku apai tuai kitai iban. Aku enggau indai tuai aku dibai petunggal aku nitihka iya ke rumah pangan indu iya laban deka mutarka pengawa seduai iya ke jadi melaki bini malam nya. RESPECT PEOPLE AROUND YOURSELF

Always humble and respect others regardless their positions.

Certain people tend to be arrogant when facing the lower citizen. When asking for services, especially from the workers in the kitchen, they simply act like a boostful queen of a witch. They shout from their tables at the kitchen workers when ordering drink. When the workers are slow, they insult.

Here's a few cases worthy to be shared so that we may not be a victim.

There was once an arrogant lady who used to patron a well-known outlet. One day an arrogant lady came to the outlet and shouting from her table at the servers for her oder of a favorite drink, a cup of coke. The servers were so used to her style and getting irritated each day she came. The lady ordered a cup of coke impatientl, perhaps she was too tasty to wait. This poor server who had been annoyed by her arrogant attitude prepare a cup of coke. Then, he asked his colleagues, turn by turn, spitting into a cup of coke that became full of bubbles. He stirred it a bit and gave it to the lady. Oh God, this poor lady was drinking a coke spiked with all kind of saliva.

Another case was happening to an arrogant man. He loved half-cooked steak. The cook prepared the steak as requested. He sent it to the arrogant man. "Nope! This's not good enough." He rejected and asked him to redo it. The cook sent it for the second time and this man was getting angrier upon seeing his beloved steak was prepared not up to his glutton appetite. This time, this poor cook couldn't stand him anymore. He went to the kitchen grumbling and wondering how to please his patron. He marinated the steak, stepped it on the kitchen floor with his boot and place it on a hot-plate. He served it to the man for the third time. The man anxiously tastes his steak.....yep....this tastes good. There you are, eating a steak that had been prepared unhumanly manner. It pays to respect the cook.

If this ever happened to any of us, it's because we have not been respectful of people around us. Hope this could a lesson learnt. Bad manner always deserves bad outcome.
